Update on Field Development, 2nd July, 2014: Following further discussions, revised drawings are being submitted to Limerick County Council this week.
Monaleen GAA Club was founded in 1957 and is one of the most famous Limerick clubs having won county Senior, Intermediate U21 and Minor and Juvenile Football titles. We have also won Intermediate Junior A, B, Minor an Juvenile Hurling titles during its proud history. Our U14 Footballers have brought home 2 All Ireland Féile titles in the last few years. Our Scór Quiz team have captured the All Ireland title on three occasions.
Monaleen continue to enjoy increased growth and success in fielding teams in Hurling and Football, Ladies Football and Camogie. This growth is sure to increase with the news that the club have purchased the land behind the Clubhouse - details to follow on the development. The club is in the process of relaying out the Newtown grounds to facilitate two pitches. The Club has a thriving Tennis Club and Golf society. The clubhouse is at the center of the local community social scene catering for every local community organization from the Actively Retired, Community Games, I.C.A., Irish Dancing to the Monaleen Cancer Support Group.
Monaleen have developed many Limerick players over the years and it's proud to have Ger Collins, Donal O'Sullivan and Paul Kinnerk on the football panel in 2013. Andrew La Touche, Ed Doyle, Jamie Porter & Lorcan Lyons play for Limerick Minors in 2013. We have several players representing the club at under age levels.
We are actively looking to expand the club and wish to invite any player or parent who is interested in coaching or playing for the club to contact us using the details below.
